Principles and Practice of Clinical Research
This course covers the basics of clinical research, from formulating a research question and selecting a study population to randomisation and blinding methods. It continues with statistical methods, including data distribution and classification, statistical tests, sample size calculation, survival analysis, missing data and meta analysis, then moves to data collection, monitoring and reporting, and to study designs such as observational studies, adaptive designs and randomised clinical trials.
This course reviews the field of translational clinical research, covering experimental design and investigative tools, and moving on to human genetics and pharmacology with a focus on statistics, epidemiology, genomic information and drug discovery.
This module covers the aspects of manuscript writing, including manuscript organisation, writing in another language, the submission process and the review process.
